Initial spruce - hemlock stand photo taken facing N80E from a point 0.54 chains due east from stake 84-17. Note the suppressed fir reproduction 3 to 6 feet height; growth is 0.5 to 0.75 inches per eyar. Overstory is mature spruce and overmatured hemlock.
