Molly Brown Campground


Area Status: Open

Named after the "unsinkable" Molly Brown on the Titanic, this campground is located on the eastern shore of Turquoise Lake in a shaded lodgepole pine forest at an elevation of 9,900 feet. Potable water, vault toilets, picnic tables and fire rings with grates are available throughout this campground. Firewood is for sale at the host site.

The Turquoise Lake Nature Trail traverses between this and the Silver Dollar Campground and loops along the shoreline. Be sure to pick up your trail guide prior to departure to learn about the flora and fauna along this trail.

Dates are weather dependent. All services may not be available early or late in the season.

Reservations: All sites are by reservation only. Call 1-877-444-6777 or visit www.recreation.gov at least 4 days in advance. Friday and Saturday night minimum required stay on weekends. 3 nights minimum on holiday weekends. Walk-ups are exempt from the nightly minimum.
Fees:
  • $27 nightly fee per site ($30 for campsites 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. 9, 10, 12, and 13), which includes two vehicles. A third vehicle is an additional $10 per night. RVs and ATV/boat trailers count as one vehicle. 
  • Fees are payable by cash, check or money order. Self-servicing fee tube is available.
  • First-come, first-served sites must be occupied the first night.

Restrictions:
  • Maximum of eight people per site
  • Maximum three tents per site or one RV and two tents
  • Dogs, including service dogs, must be leashed at all times
  • No discharge of firearms or fireworks
  • Only licensed vehicles can operate inside campground
  • Camping is not allowed behind a locked gate

Closest Towns: Leadville, CO
Water: Potable water is available through a pressurized water system. No filling RV tanks, please.
Restroom: Vault toilets are located throughout the campground.
Passes: America the Beautiful Senior or Access Pass cardholders may receive a 50% discount off the camping fee only. The discount only applies to the fee for the campsite physically occupied by the pass owner, not to any additional campsite(s) occupied by members of the pass owner's party.
