Glazing

Image of a masked person holding a crowbar in a threatening manner is seen through a window covered with security film.

Glazing usually refers to glass, but also can include transparent polycarbonates, acrylics, and ceramics. Glazing offers a physical barrier while still allowing light to pass through. From a physical security perspective, glazing presents several concerns:

  • Glazing can expose the interior to viewing from outside.

  • Glazing typically offers less physical resistance to forcible attack than other construction materials.

  • Broken glass creates a safety concern as well as a security concern.
