Executive Order 12196

E.O. 12196 also promulgated the direction of Title 29, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 1960, in 1980:

• All agencies will:
  
  
  • Assure inspections, including employee representation, and abatement.
    
    
  • Establish procedures to prevent reprisal.
    
    
  • Respond to employee complaints.
    
    
  • Provide safety and health training.
    
    
• Agencies may have a Safety & Health Committee.
