Biking
There are miles of roads and trails that are available for mountain bike use. Visitors may use many of these routes year round as weather permits. There are no permits, fees, or registration required for individuals and small groups.
Most Forest hiking trails and roads are open to mountain bikes. E-bikes are prohibited on non-motorized trails. Please contact the ranger district where you are interested in riding for specific trail information and advice.
E-Biking
E-bikes are allowed on motorized trails and roads on the forest. They are prohibited on any non-motorized trails.

- Vehicles, including e-bikes, are not allowed to travel beyond gates or barriers
- Temporary and emergency closure orders may be implemented when road and trail conditions are considered unsafe (e.g., wet roads, washouts, fire)

- FSM 7705 - Definitions: Electric Bicycle (E-Bike): Also referred to as an electric mountain bike (eMTB), a type of motor vehicle with two wheels attached to a frame, one behind the other, equipped with fully operable pedals and an electric motor of less than 750 watts that meets the requirements of one of the following three classes:
- Class 1 E-Bike: An e-bike equipped with a motor that provides assistance only when the rider is pedaling and that ceases to provide assistance when the e-bike reaches the speed of 20 miles per hour.
- Class 2 E-Bike: An e-bike equipped with a motor that may be used exclusively to propel the e-bike and that ceases to provide assistance when the e-bike reaches the speed of 20 miles per hour.
- Class 3 E-Bike: An e-bike equipped with a motor that provides assistance only when the rider is pedaling and that ceases to provide assistance when the e-bike reaches the speed of 28 miles per hour.

Mountain Biking
Mountain biking is a popular way to explore the Fishlake National Forest. There are a number of trails, roads and routes that provide opportunities for those on wheels.
Road Cycling
While most roads on the Forest are native surface or gravel, opportunities for road bikes are there. Whether you're cycling around the Fish Lake Basin on SR-25, or passing through to Capitol Reef National Park on SR-24, cycling is a great way to take in the scenery.
