Homochitto Ranger District - Meadville, MS
Okhissa Lake Campground Host
There is currently an open campground host position on our Homochitto Ranger District. Hosts have a wide range of duties that include providing an enjoyable camping experience for the public and assisting staff in protecting forest resources. Campground hosts brings their own recreational vehicle but receive a free site with full hookups. Campground hosts must be friendly, flexible, and responsible.
Volunteers are also needed year-round to do general trail maintenance on the Richardson Creek and Clear Springs Lake Trail. Duties include removal of brush and grass using hand tools, improving low lying areas, repairing erosion on steep parts of the trail and repairing or reconstructing trail bridges.

Other Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are needed in a variety of ways on the National Forests in Mississippi. Volunteering for the Forest Service is an excellent opportunity to explore your interest in a career working outdoors or to spend some free time–all while giving back to some of our nation's most precious resources. As a volunteer, you may work part-time, full-time, on one-time projects, throughout the season in an office or a National Forest.
Volunteers who complete 250 documented and approved hours of service are eligible for a FREE America the Beautiful Volunteer Pass, good for one year.
