The Daniel Boone National Forest has many roads and trails open to bicycling year round. Permits, fees, or registration are not required for individuals and small groups on many of the forest roads and trails.

Commercial outfitters or guides and groups of 70 people or more must obtain a Special Use permit. Contact the District Ranger for more information.

Avoid riding trails during wet weather. This can damage trails by rutting the tread and eroding the soil.

Restrictions

Bicycles and other mechanized equipment are prohibited in the Beaver Creek and Clifty Wildernesses.

Safety

The forest is open to hunting, so take appropriate precautions during hunting season

Expect to share the trail with others, including hikers, horseback riders and off-highway vehicle riders.
