South Fork Salmon River Road Rehabilitation Project

The Payette and Boise National Forests have completed the rehabilitation work on the South Fork Salmon River Road (FS Road 474/674).

No more closures will be taking place.

WHAT WORK WAS DONE?

The purpose of the project was the repair of asphalt, surface drainage, and subgrade issues.  Roadway safety was also improved by curve realignments and conducting fill slope repairs.

  • Works is being done on the Boise and the Payette National Forest sections of the road.
  • Construction work began in the spring of 2019, suspended for the winter and began again in the spring of 2020 - all work was completed by the fall of 2020
