Stanislaus, Sierra National Forest to Host Virtual Open Houses Supporting Recreation Technician Hiring Event

 

SONORA, California, March 21, 2023 – The Stanislaus and Sierra National Forest will host two, virtual open house events (9 a.m. – 11 a.m.  Friday, March 24 and 9 a.m. – 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 28) in support of the recreation technician hiring event currently underway.

“We understand the USAJobs platform isn’t always the easiest to navigate, especially for those unfamiliar with the government hiring process,” explained Stanislaus National Forest Administrative Officer, Shandy Bearden. “And we are doing everything in our power to assist those interested in working for the Forest Service navigate that platform as well as have the opportunity to speak with existing recreation technicians and other forest service employees about what a day in the life might look like.”

Part of a regional effort to hire more than 150 new, entry-level, recreation technicians, the application period opened March 20 and will close on March 30. Those interested in applying should visit https://www.usajobs.gov/job/713490900.
