Traditionally, the Forest Service has offered interpretative tours of the Grey Towers Mansion. Please see our tours page for details on fees, days and times of tours. You can also enjoy your self-guided recreation opportunities to explore the historic grounds and gardens, the Forest Discovery Trail, and the local community.
America the Beautiful passes can be purchased at Grey Towers NHS on tour days when the visitor center is open. When planning to purchase a pass please check our hours or call 570-296-9630 to check availability.
No, the America the Beautiful pass gives the card holder 50% off their ticket to the museum. There are no entry fees for the grounds or parking. Museum tour tickets are considered an expended amenity and is not covered by the pass, but Grey Towers graciously gives a discount to pass holders visiting our museum.
Yes, you may host formal, private, or commercial photography sessions at Grey Towers. However, you must submit a photography permit for commercial photography sessions, the request must be at least two weeks before the session, and the Forest Service must approve your request. Please visit our photography permit page for site guidelines and availability and to download our photography request form. Unless a special use permit is required, there are no fees associated with conducting formal and private photography sessions at Grey Towers.
Whether for recreational use or photography, unmanned aerial systems (UAS), including drones, cannot be landed on the 102 acres that comprise Grey Towers National Historic Site.
The Forest Service and other natural resource and land management agencies, groups, associations, organizations, and our partners can use the Meeting Spaces at Grey Towers. In addition, private and corporate companies are welcomed at Grey Towers. Fees may apply, so please visit the conference center page to see fee scale.
Based on our enabling legislation, it is not within of the scope of Grey Towers’ mission to host private social functions, including weddings.
According to our pet policy, leashed pets are welcome on Grey Towers’ grounds, but other than service animals, pets may not enter any buildings. Pets must not disturb other visitors, make excessive noise, damage property, plants, gardens, or harass or disturb wildlife. You must pick up after your pet (there are four pet waste stations located around the property). Non-compliance will result in a request to remove your pet from the property.
