Museum Tours Resume May 2026

First floor museum tours and open house will resume at Grey Towers National Historic Site in May. Tours will begin this season, running Fridays through Mondays starting on May 22, 2026, through November 01, 2026. 

There will be an 11 a.m. guided tour followed by a 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. ticketed open house offered. Visitors on the ticketed guided tours are invited back to the open house on the day they tour the museum. 

Tickets can be purchased in person on the day of the tour at our visitor center located in the historic Letterbox starting at 10:30 a.m. Our gift shop sponsored by the Grey Towers Heritage Association located in the visitor center will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on tour days. 

Vehicle gates open daily weather permitting, from 9am to 4:30pm with no fees to enter the grounds or to park. Free visitor films are offered on tour days in the historic Baitbox. Pedestrian gates are open from sunup to sundown to access our amazing trails.

For our 2026 season, Tours of the mansion are considered an expanded amenity fee. As an expanded amenity area, cardholders of any of the America the Beautiful National Parks & Federal Recreational Lands Passes are offered a 50% discount for the cardholder only.

2026 Group Tours:

We would love to have your group of 10 or more visit Grey Towers NHS. We are great place for family to reunite and organizations to get together to learn about the history of the Pinchot family, US Forest Service and the museum at Grey Towers. Museum Must Know's Before You Go

The walkway from the parking lot to the mansion is approximately 350 yards uphill and mimics the original carriageway. Please enjoy the views, watch your step, and take your time as you walk towards the mansion.

All backpacks, bags (including baby and camera bags) larger then 11x17, strollers, tripods, food and liquids (including water bottles) are prohibited inside the museum. There are no storage lockers located at Grey Towers NHS and prohibited items cannot be left unattended outside of the museum. To ensure a pleasant visit please plan accordingly.
