Payette River Pass

Annual River Passes for the Payette River recreation area in the Banks and Garden Valley are available.  Day-Use Fees apply for all river sites along the South Fork Payette River and the Main Payette River.  Restrooms will be open and maintained regularly.  River site users pay a $3 day-use fee or wave the day-use fee with purchase of a season pass for $20.  Fees begin in early spring and extend through early fall.

The passes can also be used in fee areas along the South Fork of the Snake River.  During the boating season, self-service fee stations are available for non-annual pass holders.

Funds received are used for operation, improvement and site maintenance to enhance recreation opportunities and public use along the Payette River. The program is currently within the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act as a Fee System.

In effect since 1996, the program is managed jointly by the Bureau of Land Management and the Boise National Forest, with the cooperation of the Boise County Sheriff’s Department.  The Forest Service manages the daily operations and maintenance, while the Bureau of Land Management performs most of the construction activities.

Deer Creek Ramp and Stairs

Some accomplishments using the fees collected in 2011 included the restriping of the Banks Access parking lot, painting dressing rooms at the Banks Access, sanding and staining the Deer Creek ramp, and general maintenance at all the river recreation sites.

The passes allow you to park and use the facilities at Deer Creek, Danskin, Banks, Banks Beach, Chief Parish, Beehive Bend and Deadwood Campground river access sites.

The passes are available at the Emmett Ranger District and  the Garden Valley Guard Station duuring the summer months.  Other sales outlets include: Ray's Corner Market, Cascade Outfitters, Cascade Raft Company, Garden Valley Chevron, Alpenglow Mountain Sport, Horseshoe Bend Chevron and Idaho River Sports.  Day passes can be purchased at the river access sites.
