There are many different maps and online mapping tools offering information. Consider what you would like to do to base what type of map or application you might need.

Map Downloading Tool and Database
A green background with black gridlines show a preview of the mapping tool.To download maps of any forest by quadrangle, you can use this database. For this forest, use the search bar in the upper left to search for the ‘Malheur National Forest’. Clicking on each section will allow you to download a .pdf of that quadrangle or a dataset. These maps are suitable for printing or for use on many GPS applications.

National Forest Map Store:  Offers a full, nationwide selection of National Forest, Ranger District, Wilderness, and Specialty Maps for purchase online or by phone, fax, and mail.

Discover Your Northwest: A nonprofit partner carrying a wide selection of maps, books, guides, and other interpretive products that highlight the Northwest’s natural and cultural history and support educational programs and services on public lands. Some products are available in person in the Forest Office in John Day.

US Geological Survey: The USGS provides mapping tools, databases, and publications for the entire country. Download, buy, or print classic and updated topographic maps here.
