- You can purchase paper maps through USGS or download digital maps through the Avenza Map app.
- Avenza Maps works without the internet your mobile devices to locate yourself. Use your device’s built-in GPS to stay safe, on track, on the trail, and aware of where you are on any map, even in the most remote places.
- IMPORTANT: Beginning April 2026, the Forest Service can no longer update or add new digital maps to the Avenza Map Store. When a paper map is updated, the previous digital version will be removed from the store and not replaced. Digital maps that have not yet been updated will remain available. Check the website of your forest or grassland destination for available maps, and visit the national maps page at https://www.fs.usda.gov/visit/maps for additional resources. MVUMs are reissued each year. It is the responsibility of motor vehicle users to acquire the current MVUM.

Electronic Bikes
Electronic-bike users can only ride on motorized trails identified in the motor vehicle use maps. Electronic-bike use on non-motorized trails, however, is prohibited.
