Kids, bring your fishing bait, poles, lawn chairs, insect repellent, snacks and drinks to come prepared for a great morning of fishing fun! The National Forests in Mississippi is hosting five Kids Fishing Days across the state in the upcoming months. All youth must be accompanied by an adult guardian.

Here’s a list of upcoming kids fishing days:

  • May 3 from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.: Airey Lake Recreation Area on the De Soto Ranger District located at 188 City Road, Perkinston, MS 39573. For more information, call 601-528-6160.
  • May 3 from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.: Marathon Lake Recreation Area on the Bienville National Forest located at 3451 County Road 520, Raleigh, MS 39153. For more information, call 601-469-3811.
  • June 14 from 8 a.m. to Noon: Puskus Lake Recreation Area on the Holly Springs National Forest located at Forest Road 838 near Oxford, MS. For more information, call 662-285-3264.
