Interpretation Guide
American beech is an widely distributed (15.6% of area), dense, high IV, and abundant species across the eastern half of the eastern US, and has a highly reliable model suggesting not much change in habitat but some new habitat appearing into the Northwoods. The SHIFT model, however, limits that natural migration within 100 years. Its adaptability is medium yielding an overall capability rating of good.
