Interpretation Guide
American basswood is widely distributed (11.1% of area), but sparse and with low IV, mostly across the northern third of the study region. Its medium reliable model shows a small increase in habitat (RCP 4.5) throughout its current range, and SHIFT suggests some possibility of at least some of that new habitat being colonized within 100 years. It is also of medium adaptability such that the overall capability to cope with a changing climate is rated as good (RCP 4.5) to fair (RCP 8.5).
Family: Tiliaceae
Guild: persistent, slow-growing understory tolerant
Functional Lifeform: large deciduous tree
