Wild Iris Campground

Wild Iris is located in the southern fringes of the Wind River Mountains and serves as a popular base camp for many people looking to enjoy the internationally acclaimed climbing areas in the southern portion of the Forest, most notably Wild Iris and Wolf Point. The camping area also serves people accessing the southern portion of the Forest’s front country areas to hunt, fish, hike, and ride OHVs.  

Stay limit is 16 days.

Food storage is required in this campground - be prepared to store your food properly. Bear boxes available.

No garbage collection, pack it in, pack it out

The campground is available; however, services will be available from mid-May through mid-September

Interagency Senior/Access Recreation Passes provide a 50% discount to Single Campsites ONLY.

Directions

From Lander, head east on US-287 S for 8.8 miles.  Continue straight onto WY-28 W (US 191) for 15.1 miles, and turn right onto Limestone Mountain Road (FS Road 326), and proceed for about 1.3 miles and turn right onto FS Road 327.  Proceed for about 0.7 mile, Wild Iris Campground will be to the left.
