Kartchner Caverns Trailhead

Kartchner Caverns, most famous for their cave system and Discovery Center, also provides access into the Whetstone Mountains. At the end of single lane road, visitors will be greeted with a group campground, picnic tables, vault toilets, trash bins, trail kiosks, and ample pavement parking. A fee to enter the park applies for all those wishing to access this trailhead. There are no separate or additional Forest Service fees.

At this park, the entrance gate is closed nightly at 10 p.m.

Pets must be on leash no more than six-feet long within the State Park. They are allowed to be off leash on national forest service land, but must be under voice command. Please pick up after your pet.

A picnic table is available for day use. 

The nearby Group Ramada is available for a fee through State Park. The ramada has lights, electricity, water, grills, picnic tables, a shade structure, and trash services.

Horse/Pack animals are allowed at this site.

There are no designated trailer parking spots at the trailhead.
