Reforestation at Smokey Bear Days

Reforestation is one of the most important steps in helping our forests recover after wildfire. This year at Smokey Bear Days, we invited visitors to learn how new trees take root in burn scars, how seedlings are grown and planted, and how each small effort contributes to long‑term forest health.

As part of the event, participants were able to “adopt a seedling” and give it a name, creating a personal connection to the restoration work happening across the Lincoln National Forest. This page highlights those adopted seedlings, including the names chosen by participants.
