Kiva Picnic Area
Kiva picnic area is on the south shore of beautiful Lake Tahoe on Highway 89 three miles northwest of the City of South Lake Tahoe. Nestled among native pine trees, Kiva picnic area offers a quiet beach location with a wide range of recreational activities.
Kiva picnic area is on national forest and is operated by the USDA Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit. Kiva picnic area sits between the Taylor Creek Visitor Center and the Tallac Historic Site. There are restrooms and picnic tables. Campfires (wood, charcoal or any other solid fuels) are not permitted. Portable stoves with on/off switches or valves are allowed with a valid permit.

Leashed pets are permitted in the picnic area, the Taylor Creek Visitor Center, and the Tallac Historic Site. Pets are not permitted in or near the Taylor Creek Marsh.
