Big Pine Flat Equestrian Group Campground

This Equestrian Group Campground is located in a pine forest at an elevation of 6820 feet. Amenities include 5 picnic tables, 2 double pedestal grills, 1 group fire ring, vault toilets, potable water and 4 horse corrals. Nearest showers are at Serrano Campground.

Call (877) 444-6777 or visit www.recreation.gov.  Reservations can be made as early as 12 months in advance.

General Information

Reservations can be placed as late as 24 hours in advance based upon availability. For example, reservations could be made on a Thursday before 2pm, for a Friday 2pm check in, if there is availability.

  • Call Big Bear Discovery Center for current fire restrictions.
  • Campground capacity, maximum of 25 persons and 8 vehicles.
  • Availability of water is limited.
  • Please fill up trailers/RV's before coming to the campground.
  • No extra vehicles allowed.
  • Off highway vehicles green sticker and red sticker vehicles are not allowed in the campground.
  • Vehicle and trailer parking is not allowed vegetation.

Directions

Take I-10 East to Redlands. Take the University Street exit, EXIT 80. Turn left (northbound) on University Street. Turn right onto E. Lugonia Avenue/SR-38. Continue on State Highway 38 into Big Bear City, to E. Big Bear Blvd. Turn left onto E. Big Bear Blvd./SR-38. Turn right onto Greenway Drive/SR-18/SR-38. Turn left onto North Shore Drive, SR-38. Continue on North Shore Drive/Hwy 38 until you reach the City of Fawnskin. As you reach the “Y”, veer right on to Rim of the World Drive, past the County Fire Station 96. Continue on Rim of the World, after the pavement ends the road turns into Forest Road 3N14. Proceed on 3N14 continue to Forest Service Road 3N16. Turn left on to Forest Service Road 3N16 for approximately 0.3 of a mile. The campground is accessed by the dirt road to your right.
