The Motor Vehicle Use Map displays National Forest System routes (roads and trails) or areas designated open to motorized travel. These maps help manage and guide motorized recreation while ensuring protection of natural resources. The maps are regularly updated to reflect changes in land use and regulations, and they are a key tool for maintaining sustainable access to national forests and other public lands.

The Motor Vehicle Use Map also displays uses allowed by vehicle class (highway-legal vehicles, vehicles less than 50 inches wide and motorcycles), and seasonal allowances.
