REVISION 1 to REVISED ICE TIMBER SALE and FUELS REDUCTION PROJECT
Analysis of a fuels reduction project in the Ice analysis area began in 1993 as a result of concerns expressed by homeowners regarding the fire danger posed by high fuel loadings and dense forest stands surrounding the Alta Sierra tract in the Greenhorn Mountains. An environmental assessment (EA) for the Ice Project was completed in April of 1994. Subsequent analysis resulted in a Revised Ice Timber Sale and Fuels Reduction Project, which was approved in December 1998. Implementation of the Ice Project was enjoined in October 2006 until a supplemental NEPA analysis was completed. The Sequoia National Forest has now completed Revision 1 of the Revised Ice Project Environmental Assessment.
