Hospital Flat Campground

Along the North Fork of the Kern River, Hospital Flat Campground offers 40 individual family units, and 1 accessible group unit with ramp. Maximum 30-foot RV and trailer length. Paved access roads. Bathrooms and water available.

All developed campground areas on the Forest operate under a concessionaire permit with ExplorUS. Camping and campfires within 25 feet of the water's edge are prohibited due to Kern River's Wild and Scenic Designation.

Maximum trailer length 30’  

Depending on fire restrictions and fire danger, campfires may be prohibited for camping

No camping or campfires outside designated campsites. Campfire permits are required for campfires, barbeques, and camp stoves. Permits are available at your local Ranger Station or online at preventwildfireca.org

Overnight Use:
Single Site: $36 per night
Group Site: $152 per night (30 people max)

Campsite fees range from $34.00 per night for single unit, $8.00 per night for extra vehicle. Group Campsite 30pp - $152.00 per night.

Directions

Off of Highway 99 in Bakersfield, take Highway 178 East, to Lake Isabella. From Lake Isabella take Highway 155 around the west side of the lake tothe town of Kernville. From Kernville go north on Sierra Way (Mountain 99)6.5 miles to the campground.
