Landslide Campground

5800-foot elevation. Nine campsites, including six tent-only sites, with hiking in two nearby groves of giant sequoias. This campground is within the Giant Sequoia National Monument. Trails in the monument, open to hikers, horses, and bikes (outside the wilderness areas), wind through giant sequoia groves, up mountains, and alongside wild rivers. Compacted dirt surfaces, fee required Maximum RV length 16 feet. Special food storage rule in effect because this is black bear country! Check current fire restrictions before venturing out.

Campfire permits are required for campfires, barbeques, and camp stoves. Permits are available at your local Ranger Station or online at Campfire Permit - Ready for Wildfire.

General Information

  • Welcome to bear country. Bear boxes are located at each site for your convenience. Please use them!
  • Campfire permits are REQUIRED for campfires, BBQs and camp stoves.
  • Compacted dirt surfaces, no gravel; no pavement.
  • Trash dumpster onsite.
  • The fee to enter Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks is NOT included in the camping fee.
  • There is an extra vehicle fee of $8.00/night on the 2nd vehicle in each single campsite and on the 3rd & 4th vehicle in any double campsite, provided these vehicles are not joined to the 1st vehicle by a hitch and towed onto the site. In the case of motorcycles, the 1st and 2nd are considered to be one vehicle and the 3rd and 4th are also considered to be one vehicle. So the fee would be a single $8.00/night of stay for the 3rd/4th motorcycle.

From Grant Grove, go 13 miles north on CA 180 and Hume road, then 3 miles south on Forest Road 13S09 past Hume Lake.
