The 5.1 Mile Kern River Upper Trail begins at the Johnsondale Bridge and ends at trail 33E23. The trail is open for the following uses: Backpacking, Day Hikes, Hiking.

Due to recent fires and flooding, the trail may have washouts, downed trees, and intermittently disappear.
