Bead Lake Boat Launch

This boat launch provides public access to beautiful Bead Lake (720 acres), which is the largest lake in Pend Oreille County. Parking is limited. The lake has four dispersed campsites located along the lakeshore which are accessed by either boat or hiking trail. One hundred (100) feet no wake zone along lakeshore. All watercraft needs to be cleaned before launching to prevent the spread of invasive species.

Trail users need to park in the trailhead ¼ mile up on Bead Ridge Road 3215.

Memorial Day Weekend - Labor Day Weekend

Washington state fishing license required. See Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife at http://wdfw.wa.gov/ for more information. No wake zone for boating 100 feet from the shoreline.  
  • Quiet hours between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
  • Campfires in developed fire ring only        
  • Fireworks are prohibited
  • Pets must be under vocal control or on a leash          
  • Maximum length of stay: 14 days       
  • Food and wildlife attractants must be properly stored at all times

Northwest Forest pass or $5 per vehicle per day. Day use fees waved with Interagency Pass, Senior Pass, Access Pass, and Military Federal Pass holders.

Directions

From Newport, WA:  Follow U.S. Highway 2 across the Pend Oreille River into Idaho and turn north on LeClerc Road (County Road 9305). Continue on County Road 9305 for 2.8 miles and turn right onto the Bead Lake Road (County Road 3029). Travel for 6 miles, turn right on the Bead Lake Loop Road and follow it for 0.2 miles to the turnoff for the boat launch.
