Buckhorn Meadows Trailhead

Provides access to: Buckhorn Meadows Trail #205 which accesses Strawberry Mountain Wilderness.

General Information

Please DO NOT pasture horses or drive in the meadow. Please use certified weed free hay and take what you do not use home. Wilderness Regulations apply within Strawberry Mountain Wilderness.

Getting There

Directions

From John Day, travel south on US Highway 395 to junction with County Road 65. Drive southeast to Forest Service Road 1520 and follow road to trailhead.

Parking

The parking area is small. Please park in a manner that will allow others to turn around in the limited space that is available. Please do not park or drive in the nearby meadow.

Horse/Pack animals are allowed at this site.

This trailhead offers undeveloped camping with a 6 horse tie-stall, manger and stock rail.
