Davis Creek West Trailhead

The roads to the western trailhead is very rough and not recommended for passenger vehicles.  This trailhead can be a great point for being dropped off, allowing the visitors to hike, bike, motor bike to the connecting trailhead where a pickup vehicle can be staged to meet after the hike or ride. The trailhead is for the Davis Creek Trail #244, this trail is very rocky and rugged and is recommended for more experienced riders.

Directions

From the town of Prairie City, OR., travel approximately 12 miles east on US Highway 26 to the junction with US Highway 7.  Follow US Highway 7 for approximately 1 mile to the junction with County Road 20.  Follow County Road 20 for approximately 7 miles to the junction with Forest Service Road 2050. Drive approximately 1/4 mile to the trailhead. DO NOT TURN UP THE HILL AWAY FROM THE CREEK. Forest Service Road 2050072 up the creek bottom becomes impassable, you may use this road as part of the trail.
