Flat Fire Area Closure

Forest Order # 06-07-05-25-01 

Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. § 551 and 36 C.F.R. § 261.50 (a) and (b), the following acts are prohibited on National Forest System lands, roads and trails within the following described area on the Ochoco National Forest, Lookout Mountain Ranger District & Crooked River National Grassland, as described in the attached Exhibit A. This order will become effective beginning Aug 25, 2025 through December 31, 2025, unless rescinded sooner.

 PROHIBITIONS: 

1. Going onto or being within an area closed for public health and safety. 36 CFR § 261.53 (e) 

2. Being upon a closed road. 36 CFR § 261.54 (e) 

3. Being on a closed trail. 36 CFR § 261.55 (a) The area described below will be closed to public access/entry due to hazards and hazardous conditions created as a result of the Flat Fire. 

AFFECTED AREA/CLOSURE AREA: 

The following area of the Forest is closed to motorized vehicles and recreation: The area is bounded to the east starting at the corner of Graham Rd and SW Forest Park Dr along the south section line of S40, T11S, R12E to the corner of SW Forest Park Dr and Mongomery Rd in S20, T12S, R12E . Then from Montgomery Rd to the east section line of S20, T12S, R12E. The eastern boundary continues south along the west section line of S20, T12S, R12E to the intersection with Peninsula Rd in S5, T12S, R12E and then south and east along Peninsula Rd to the intersection with SW Antelope Dr in the SE corner of S36, T13S, R12E. The area is bounded to the south along the Jefferson County and Deschutes County line at the intersection of Peninsula Rd and SW Antelope Dr in the SE corner of S36, T13S, R12E west to the SW corner of S32, T13S, R11E. The area is bounded by the west by the SW corner of S32, T13S, R11E north to the junction with SW Granview Loop Rd in S08, T13S, R11E. The western boundary continues north along SW Grandview Loop Rd to the junction with SW Graham Rd on the north section line of S16, T12S, R11E. The area is bounded to the north by Graham Rd. starting in S16, T12S, R11E and continuing east to the corner of Graham Rd and SW Forest Park Dr along the south section line of S40, T11S, R12E. All perimeter roads are still open along this closure.
