ORDER NO. 06-09-24-01
Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. § 551 and 36 CFR § 261.50(b), to provide for public safety, the following act is prohibited within the Pacific Ranger District of the Olympic National Forest as described below and shown in Exhibit A. This Order will be effective February 15, 2024, through February 14, 2026, unless rescinded sooner.
PROHIBITION:
Being on a National Forest System Road, [36 CFR § 261.54(e)]
ROAD CLOSURE DESCRIPTION
This order prohibits all motorized equipment and motor vehicle use in the closure area year round (subject to exceptions described below). The closure area consists of National Forest System (NFS) Road, (see Exhibit A)
The closure of FSR 2372 begins at mile post 1.05 and terminates at mile post 1.20, located within T22N, 507W. (See Exhibit A)
EXEMPTIONS:
Pursuant to 36 CFR § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this order:
- Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire-fighting force in the performance of an official duty.
- Persons with Forest Service Permit No. FS-7700-48 (Permit for Use of Roads, Trails, or Areas Restricted by Regulation Order), specifically exempting them from this order.
This prohibition is in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 C.F.R. Part 261, Subpart A.
Violation of these prohibitions is punishable by a fine of not more than $5000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, or imprisonment for not more than six (6) months, or both. 16 USC § 551 and 18 USC §§ 3551, 3559, 3571, and 3581. Executed in Olympia, Washington this day 15 March 2024.
