Community Tour: Upper Applegate Watershed Restoration Project

Join the US Forest Service and Rogue Forest Partners for a field trip to the Upper Applegate Watershed Restoration Project, where ecological restoration thinning is underway on the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest to improve forest health and reduce wildfire risk. Learn about this collaborative effort and view the helicopter that is moving thinned trees to a landing area, where they will be transported to a local mill. We also plan to visit an area where thinning has been completed and discuss how this work benefits the ecosystem and creates better opportunities for wildland fire response.
