Recreation
The Rogue River–Siskiyou National Forest is one of the most diverse forests in the country. It offers many different ways to enjoy the outdoors. You can explore wilderness areas, scenic rivers, byways, trails, state parks, and places for fishing and water sports. There are also great spots for hunting, hiking, running, horseback riding, mountain biking, off‑highway vehicle riding, snowmobiling, downhill and cross‑country skiing, snow play, and wildlife viewing.
The forest has hundreds of campgrounds—developed, primitive, and boat‑in—along with picnic areas, historic sites, and even a couple of rental lookouts. You’ll also find plenty of private businesses nearby that support visitors.
National forests and grasslands provide people from all backgrounds and abilities with opportunities for world-class recreation adventures, from serene trout fishing to scaling the tallest peaks to commanding the most challenging alpine ski run. There’s much more to explore on national forests and grasslands that you know.
