Outdoor Science and Learning
Displaying the importance of natural features and the history of the people who have lived in this area, outdoor science assists visitors in learning more about their National Forest System. To make learning easy and fun, many forums are available to pick from. Throughout the Forest you can visit interpretation sites, outdoor education programs, visitor centers, district offices, and nature trails, or lean more about the Forest from our website, brochures, fand act sheets. Many of these learning opportunities focus on interpreting settlement patterns, the importance of Native American homelands, historical mining and timber harvesting, geologic, wildlife and botanical features across the Forest.
