​Before visiting the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest, there is information you should know about. Ensure you're informed about current conditions and closures on the forest.

We want your visit to be an enjoyable one. By following national forest rules and regulations, your outdoor recreation experience should prove rewarding and other visitors will likewise enjoy their visits.

General Prohibitions for all Forest Service Lands

The following regulation describes general prohibitions, closures and laws for acts or omissions within the National Forest System or on a National Forest System road or trail: 36 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Section 251   

Forest Alerts

  • Fish Lake Boat Ramp Closure

    Due to low water levels at Fish Lake, the Fish Lake boat ramp managed by the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest is closed. Visitors can still access the boat ramp at Fish Lake Resort.

  • Stage 1 Public Use Fire Restrictions (Forest-wide)

    Stage 1 Public Use Restrictions, or public fire restrictions, are in effect across the Forest. Before you head out on your adventure, make sure you are aware of current restrictions for the area you will be visiting. NOTE: The Wild and Scenic Lower Rogue River has separate fire restrictions.

    This order restricts the time allowed for people camp or leave equipment across the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest.

  • Illinois River Road Seasonal Restrictions

    Effective June 1, 2026, seasonal fire restrictions and parking restrictions are in place along the Illinois River Road on the Wild Rivers Ranger District.

  • Illinois River Corridor Seasonal Alcohol Prohibition

    Beginning May 22, 2026, possessing and consuming alcohol will be prohibited along the recreational section of the Wild and Scenic Illinois River. The prohibition does not apply to private lands within the closure boundary. This prohibition will last through September 30, 2026.

  • Rogue River National Recreation Trail Emergency Closure

    A portion of the Rogue River National Recreation Trail is closed on the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest due to damage sustained in the 2025 Moon Complex Fire.
