Fern Springs Recreation Area

This unique group recreational area was constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in the 1930s, as a response to the Great Depression by President Roosevelt is closed. The closet open recreation area in Mt. Fern Springs is cradled by white pines, hemlocks, and old-growth oak trees, as well as having a large grassy lawn and rich understory.  These conditions provide wonderful habitats for many bird species and animals.
