Locust Stake OHV Trail System
All OHV trails on the national forest close during wet conditions when trail use can cause damage to trails and erosion into nearby streams. Please contact the Chattooga River Ranger District for the latest information on trail availability due to frequent weather contingencies. 706-754-6221 ext 134
Severe erosion over time on sections of the Locust Stake OHV Trail System created serious safety concerns and damage to natural resources, resulting in the complete closure of the trail system in January 2012. We have been able to go in and reopen 7 miles of trails and will still have to keep closed some of the trails.
