Andrew Pickens Ranger District
The Andrew Pickens Ranger District is located in Oconee County on more than 85,000 acres. The district has a wide variety of programs and work across all functional areas including wildlife, fisheries, fire, timber, recreation, special uses and lands.
The management on the district emphasizes habitat restoration and enhancement for a diverse range of wildlife and plant species with emphasis on rare, threatened, endangered and sensitive species. Popular attractions on the district include hunting, fishing, hiking, fall color sightseeing, camping, horseback riding, and whitewater floating on the wild and scenic Chattooga River.

Enoree Ranger District
The Enoree Ranger District consists of more than 170,000 acres located in Newberry, Union, Chester, Laurens and Fairfield counties. The Enoree Ranger District has many active programs including a growing recreation program, soil and water improvement, wildlife and fisheries program, timber management and prescribed burning.
The Enoree District and its diverse resources provide a full range of active outdoor recreation activities. These include hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, canoeing, photography, scenic viewing, etc. The area is home to hot summers but really mild winters so you can get out year round. Overall, think southern with southern hospitality and really friendly folks!

Long Cane Ranger District
The 120,000-acre Long Cane Ranger District is in the Piedmont counties of Abbeville, Edgefield, Greenwood, McCormick and Saluda. The district office is located in the town of Edgefield, home of 10 South Carolina governors. The Long Cane has a very progressive wildlife and fisheries program. Popular forms of recreation on the district include horseback riding, motorcycle and mountain bike riding, hiking, picnicking and hunting. The district has recreation areas with several camping units, picnic areas, boat launches and swimming areas. Deer and turkey hunting are very popular. We have robust timber sale and prescribed burn programs (26,000 acres burned annually with the Enoree District).
The town of Edgefield is rich in history and is located 20 miles north of Aiken, 60 miles northwest of Columbia, 25 miles north of Augusta, Georgia, and approximately 35 miles south of Greenwood. Mild winters, and a delightful spring and fall (hot July and August) make this a great climate. World-class golf and equestrian facilities are within 30 minutes of Edgefield. River and lake (Lake Thurmond) fishing opportunities abound for red-eyed, spot tail, striped, and largemouth bass; and catfish, striper, brim, and crappie. The national headquarters for National Wild Turkey Federation and Quail Unlimited are in Edgefield! If you love partnerships, you’ll love the Long Cane!

Francis Marion Ranger District
The Francis Marion is home to a variety of wildlife, including the endangered red-cockaded woodpecker. It spans nearly 259,000 acres, and offers a wide variety of recreational opportunities ranging from hiking, biking, motorcycle and canoe trails to rifle ranges and a boat launch.
The Francis Marion National Forest is located in the coastal plain of South Carolina and is bounded to the north by Santee River, the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean to the east. The forest is situated between two major metropolitan areas: Myrtle Beach (30 miles to the north) and historic Charleston (40 miles to the south). This part of coastal South Carolina is a popular tourist destination, well-known for its freshwater and saltwater recreational opportunities, golf and tennis, beautiful coastal scenery and historical landmarks dating from prehistoric times through the Revolutionary and Civil War eras.
The climate is hot and humid in the summer and is generally mild in the winter.
