Choctaw Lake

Choctaw Lake Recreation Area offers a range of outdoor opportunities such as camping, picnicking, swimming, boating, fishing, hiking and bicycling. Facilities include 20 campsites with utility hookups, 35 picnic sites, three picnic pavilions, a swimming area, disc golf course, two bath houses with showers and flush toilets, two boat ramps, an accessible fishing pier and a 3-mile hiking trail. Amenities: Accessible, Boat ramp, Tent camping, Camping trailer, Picnic tables, Toilets, Drinking water

Choctaw Lake Recreation Area is open all year. Choctaw is a fee area and the fee station is located just beyond the entrance gate. No attendant will be on duty. Therefore, users should make sure that they have correct currency before arriving at the recreation area.

Passes can only be purchased at National Forests in Mississippi Ranger District Offices.

Overnight Use:
Single Site with electric hook-up: $20 per night
Day Use:
$5 per vehicle per day

Fees: Day Use - $5 per vehicle, per day
Camping - $20 per site, per day ($14 camping with a $6 hook up fee)

Passes Honored - MS Adventure Pass, America the Beautiful Access and/or Senior Passes.
Passes can be purchased at the Tombigbee Ranger District Office.

Discounts:
Day Use - Free (for users with a MS Adventure pass).
Day Use - $2.50 per vehicle, per day (for users with an America the Beautiful Access and/or Senior pass, a 50% discount). 
Camping - $13 per campsite, per day (for users with an America the Beautiful Access and/or Senior pass, a 50% discount. There is no discount given on hookup fee).

Directions

From Jackson, MS: Take state Highway 25 north toward Starkville. Turn onto state Highway 15 north toward Ackerman, MS and travel 11 miles to Forest Service Road 967 to the entrance.
