Ozark-St. Francis National Forests

The East Fork Wilderness takes its name from the East Fork of the Illinois Bayou, which bisects the wilderness from the northeast to southwest.

This area is situated on Arkansas 7 which is noted as one of the 10 most scenic highways in the United States. Gorgeous fall colors can be seen in October and November.

Surrounded by a beautiful mature hardwood forest, Haw Creek Falls Point of Interest is located on a small mountain stream with picturesque falls, rocks, and a bluff.

There are 15,307 acres with the Ozark Highlands Trail and Hurricane Creek Wild and Scenic River running through the middle of the area.

Rated one of the best horse trails in the state, it is a popular site for competitive rides.

This scenic area consists of two hiking trails Pedestal Rocks and Kings Bluff. Pedestal Rocks is 2.2 -miles and Kings Bluff is 1.7-miles long.

This area has a small picturesque mountain stream with waterfalls, rocks, and bluffs and 11 family camping units. There is access to the Richland Creek Wilderness Area.

The Richland Creek Wilderness was created by the 1984 Arkansas Wilderness Act and contains 11,801 acres in the middle of the Boston Mountains.

Primarily well known as a rock climbing site, Sam's Throne, near Mt. Judea, is also a popular hiking, camping and photography destination.

The Shelton Point Shooting Range is a great place to shoot firearms recreationally, or sight your weapon prior to one of Arkansas' legal game seasons.
