Kat Shay, forest ecologist and Project Coordinator at the Hardwood Ecosystem Experiment will discuss the current and historical beneficial uses of fire for both people and the ecosystems across southern Indiana and the central hardwood region. Her work at the Hardwood Ecosystem Experiment involves managing collaborative research projects and prescribed burns focused on resilient land management and forest regeneration within the region. There is no fee to attend this program. Registration is required. The deadline to RSVP for this presentation is Friday, May 23rd.
