Bison Introduction and Grazing
The Midewin Nation Tallgrass Prairie (Midewin) proposes to introduce a herd of bison on an experimental basis and monitor the development of tallgrass prairie and grassland bird habitat establishment using bison grazing practices. Bison will also increase visitor activities on the site. The addition of walking trails and pasture overlooks will be key attractions drawing more people to Midewin, helping to increase exploration of other recreational and prairie learning opportunities.
