Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie is a Day Use only site and overnight camping is not permitted.

Trails

Horse Riding can be enjoyed on approximately 22 miles of multi-use trails at Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie. These trails are shared between hikers, bikers, and horseback riders. The Henslow Trail is a crushed limestone screened trail. The majority of the other trails are on old roadbeds. Horse Riding is designated on multi-use trails only. Riding on hiking only trails is not permitted.
