South Pond Recreation Area

This tree lined pond with its sand beach and surrounding mountains offer a great place for family gatherings. The area provides a bathhouse, picnic tables, grills and a carry-in launch for small boats.

General Information

Mid June - Mid October

This Day Use area typically opens mid-June. Daily hours are 10 AM to 8 PM. The gate is locked outside of these hours.

A season pass can be purchased for $60 payable at the recreation area.  The season pass is only valid during the summer season.  
Pets are not permitted within the swimming area, which consists of the sand beach and water area within the buoys. Pets are allowed elsewhere, as long as they are on leash not longer than 6 feet.

  • Day Use Per vehicle / per day $9.00
  • The day use fee is not covered by any recreation passes purchased online or at forest offices, visitor centers, or vendors.
