Petersburg Ranger District Tree Thinning 2018-2022
Precommercial tree thinning of approx 8,900 ac of young-growth stands that are 19-36 years old. Proposed thinning to 14, 16 or 18 ft spacing. Some of south aspect stands may include pruning, canopy gaps or leave strips to improve wildlife habitat.
