| Comments: | 1920 Coconino N.F. Excellent 2-year-old seedlings in brush 12 years after cutting on overgrazed area. The decayed litter, when not too deep, and where grass is absent, favors growth of seedlings. Projecting branches have shielded young pines against sheep. Conditions similar to these may be found in old tops, piles, scattered or lopped brush, but only if herbatious vegetation is eliminated. F.W. Haasis. Ariz. |
