Comments: | 1921 Coconino N.F. Ariz. G.A. Pearson. Seedlings on stump patches, or the sites of recently felled trees, are very large and vigorous, providing hebaceous vegetation is kept down. Their rapid growth is attributed to a surplus of soil moisture resulting from elimination of active tree roots, and high fertility due to presence of organic matter produced by decayed pine needles. |
