| Comments: | Seedlings on stump patches, or sites of recently felled trees, are very large and vigorous, providing herbaceous vegetation is kept down. Rapid growth attributed to surplus of soil moisture resulting from elimination of active tree roots, and high fertility due to presence of organic matter produced by decayed pine needles. |
