Comments: Coconino Sample Plot S5; Taken 20' behind corner C2, Plot S5I (C). Area is at base of slope and was denuded at time of logging. Considerable debris accumulated here. Area not fenced. Shows stand of vigorous seedlings near stump. Some of these had started prior to 1913. Excellent height growth due to favorable soil-moisture conditions. Sapling in right foreground is 18' tall and is unburned brush pile. (Repeat of photo 16944A (1913)). See also DJN-42
